Coming to Nancy

Note : Bikes will be available in Nancy.

Biking it

Each year a mailing list is made available to velorutionaries wishing, to share info and plan group rides to the organiser city. Although the list is open, you need to register first before sending and receiving other subscribers’ messages. You may wish to look up the web archive to avoid repeating the same questions.

Bikers are getting together into groups in several places, some aiming to join the VU, while for others it will only be a stage on their route. This page lists those we know of, so you can contact them and organize how you’ll plan your trip.

We also advertise one the fondest places for our velorutionaries in our region, the fabulous project of Nuclear waste dumping site in Bure … Several groups plan to stop there on their trip.

Pour le retour, la gratuité des transports en commun est assumée par le Centre de Recherche sur l’Avenir des Déplacements Écologiques : remboursement intégral des billets de train.

By train

There’s the Paris – Nancy TGV . (Please note ! If you choose to stop at Lorraine TGV, bikes are not accepted on the coach shuttle service from Lorraine TGV to Nancy-Centre)

And the so-called Paris – Nancy – Strasburg TGVs and TERs.

There are TGVs from Toulouse (through Lyons).

Bikes are unconditionnally accepted on TERs . On TGVs, there’s a fee of €10 by TGV (Note that in case of connections, you’ll have to pay a separate fee for each train) and provided there are enough available places- of which there’s a limited number.

The SNCF site

On ‘Macron’ coaches.

Bikes are not allowed and most lines do not come down to the city center. They stop at a tramway terminal from which you are taken directly to the train station in the city center.
